I am a native of Hendersonville, TN, and have been married for 24 years. I am so thankful to have such a supportive husband. He is a huge asset along side of me. I have a daughter in her senior year of college and a son entering his first year of college as well. These two blessings are my best life’s work. My greatest experiences and growth have come from doing life with them! I am a flawed parent like everyone else, but I truly believe nothing is more challenging or rewarding than motherhood.
I have always been interested in things related to the psyche, behavior, and emotions. I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Western Kentucky University and specialized in Psychiatric Nursing for several years. Once I became a mother, I stayed home with my children and did the arduous full-time work of motherhood for 10 years. During that time, I returned to WKU and earned my Masters degree in School Counseling PreK – 12. Upon graduation, I spent the next 7 years working in the Sumner County public school system with children who had a large variety of emotional and behavioral needs, helping them become successful and grow emotionally and socially in the school setting. All of my training, professional and personal, plus a heartfelt passion and calling for children and teens to live full, abundant, and successful lives has prepared me for the work I do today – helping children, teens, and families overcome life’s challenges with acceptance and grace.
